February Singles Round-Up

February singles round up is here. We start with the second EP for Vince Clark and Martin Gore who record together under a name VCMG. Their second single is called "Single Blip" it is out on Mute and features four remixes of the song. Amanda Mair has released "Sense", the third singe from her self titled debut album out on Labrador. Zola Jesus and Kasabian have both released fourth singles from their albums which were released last year. Kasabian are back with "Goodbye Kiss" and Zola Jesus with "In Your Nature". Now some elctronic dream pop; M83 have issued "Reunion", a second single from their so much anticipated 2012 album 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' and Mauro Remidi aka Porcelain Raft has released "Unless You Speak From Your Heart" which is included on his recent album 'Strange Weekend'. Last but not least, Ladyhawke is back with "Black, White & Blue" which announces her new album coming this spring. Not so impressive as we expected it would be, but lets wait for the album and see.

January Singles Round-Up

Our first monthly round-up of the best single releases is here. We already gave you some updates on Limahl who returned to the music scene with the brand new single 1983. Five years have past since the release of 'Wincing The Night Away' which was one of the best albums in 2007 for the Shins, they are back now with the brand new single "A Simple Song" which announces the new album 'Port of Morrow' which is due to be released in March. The French electronic duo Air are back with a new single "Seven Stars" which features Victoria Legrand, new album coming up in February. Goldfrapp have released "Melancholy Sky" which is one of two new songs on their first best of Singles compilation album. Florence and the Machine have released "No Light, No Light", a third single from their second album 'Ceremonials' which was released last year. School of Seven Bells have released "Lafaye", a new single which is available digital. Last but not list, Saint Etienne are back with their first single in seven years. It's entitled "Tonight" and it is, as they say "All about the primal and atavistic pull that all good pop music exerts". Don't forget to leave your vote!

October Singles Round-up

October seems to be black and white with some great singles lined up. Our single of the months is the new Ropes single entitled "The Lack of Technology Made Me A Killer", available digital with three more tracks. Xeno & Oaklander have released "Sets and Lights" their second single from the album of the same name, also released this month. "Blood, Tears and Gold" is the sixth single  for Hurts from their debut album and one of their best so far. Kate Bush returned with the snowy "Wild Man" which announces the new album for November. Last but not least, REM have split, everyone knows by now. They officially say goodbye with their last single "We All Go Back to Where We Belong".

September Singles Round Up

With September almost over, here come the singles highlights of the month. We start with Twin Shadow's "Changes" which is a cover of an old Bagarre hit "Circus is Gone" put in a new arrangement. Duran Duran have released "Leave A Light On" which is widely considered as "Save A Prayer" for new generations. Snow Patrol went pop on their fantastic new single entitled "Called Out in the Dark" which also announces a new album "Fallen Empires" for November. Coldplay have released a second single "Paradise" from their new studio album 'Mylo Xyloto' which is going to be released in October. Manic Street Preachers have covered The The's "This is The Day"The video for the song  features retrospective images and videos from their musical career. Austra have returned with the third single "Spellwork" taken form their debut album 'Feel it Break'. Last but not least, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti have returned with his epic new single “Witch Hunt Suite for World War III” a 16-minute synth opus which marks the ten year anniversary since the terrorist attacks of September 11.

Summer Singles Highlights

The long summer break is over. We are so glad to be back! Before we start with news here are few singles highlights which were released this summer. 
The Human League are back with probably the best song from the album 'Credo' called "Sky" and the release features several remixes of the song. Bjork and Feist are both back five years after their last album releases. Bjork has released "The Crystaline Series" which features 3 CD singles and four 12" vinyl remixes, all released during this summer. Feist's song "How Come You Never Go There" announces the new album by the singer which will be released this autumn. M83 returned with a new single "Midnight City" and the good news is that the new  double album 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' is going to be released in October... 



...The new album by Ladytron 'Gravity The Seducer' will be released in less than a month and the fourth single from it takes the title 'Mirage' and it was released on August 9th. Future Islands successfully returned with "Before The Bridge" this July and as most of the bands mentioned here, their new album is going to be released in October. Blondie are back with a wonderful second single from the album called "What I Heard". And last but not least, "Brittle Heart", new single by Brett Anderson, released on August 15th, new album also coming up!

May Singles Round-Up

Time to reveal the best singles released in the month of May. We begin with one of my favorite songs for this spring by the Swedish band Daybehavior who have just released a wonderful single "Silent Dawn". The band will release a new album during this summer and reveal more info about that in the upcoming interview. The French group Indochine have recorded a tribute song "Un Ange à ma Table" which is inspired by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Stranger Station have released their first single in thiry years, "Cynthia", a direct follow up to their only single "Minutes to Silence". Ladytron were all in the news with the first single from the new album entitled "White Elephant", the album is out later this year. Austra have released the second single "Lose It" from their much anticipated debut album 'Feel it Break' and Austin based Boy Friend make their debut with the dreamy "Lovedropper". Finally, the long awaited Blondie album is out this month as well as the title track and lead single "Mother".

April Singles Round-Up

April's singles pack is here: PJ Harvey's has released the second single from her brilliant new album 'Let England Shake' and her song "The Glorious Land" is the pick of the month April. Kate Bush is also back with a new compilation album and the reworked and updated version of the song "Deeper Understanding". Fleet Foxes have returned to the music scene after two years and the successful  s/t debut album with the new single "Helplessness Blues" and The National are back with the fourth single from their latest album entitled "Exile Villify". Other Highlights include the second single for Cold Cave entitled "Villains of the Moon", Deerhunter's fantastic "Memory Boy" song, the third single from their album 'Halcyon Digest' and Interpol's new single which also comes as a limited edition EP "Try it On" and which is released as a celebration of  the Record Store Day in Europe. We close this round-up with a new single for Amanda Lear who takes a "Chinese Walk" and tries to impress us with virtual color shapes in her new video.

March Singles Round Up

The Round up of March's single releases is here. We start with the Human League who are the band of the month who are releasing their second single "Never Let Me Go" from the album 'Credo' which is out on Monday. Earlier this month OMD released their third single "The History of Modern part 1" from the album of the same name and James Blake released the second single "The Wilhelm Scream" from his self titled debut. White Lies are back with "Strangers" and so are Hooverphonic with "Anger Never Dies", both releasing second singles from their albums. Patrick Wolf returns with a new single "The City" which also announces new album this spring. And last but not least, George Michael covers "True Faith" by New Order and fails to impress the music media with his interpretation of the song. Well at least, it's for the good cause.

February's Singles Round-Up

The Round up of February single releases includes: Cut Copy- "Need You Now", a pick of the month, Alphaville's second single "Song for No One", from the album 'Catching Rays on Giant' which was released last year. Lykke Li is back with  much anticipated new single "I Follow Rivers" which also announces a new album in March. Papercuts are also up for a new album release in March. Their fourth album is entitled 'Fading Parade' and "Do What You Will" is the first single to be taken from it. Yeasayer will release the fourth single from the album 'Odd Blood' called "I Remember" and Hurts are back with "Sunday" an iTunes Bundle released on February 26, 2011.And last but not least, our band of the month is releasing their first single "Drive Me" from the upcoming album 'Blanc Burn'.
