After a seven-year hiatus, John Maus will be back with a brand-new studio album titled Later Than You Think, set for release on September 26th. The album marks his long-awaited return and features two already-released singles: “I Hate Antichrist” and “Because We Built It.”

Pulp - Got to Have Love

 Pulp will release their eighth studio album More in June this year. This is their first release in more than twenty years and the album was recorded in 2024. "Got to Have Love" is the second single to be taken from the album. 

Another Green World - Princess

Princess is the first track from Another Green World's new album Chrysalis Out May 20th 2025.

Instant Hit: Primary Colours - Paint Love Blue

Primary Colours was a short-lived American synthpop/new wave duo active from 1984 to 1988, comprising Jim Demain and Jeanette. They released one EP titled "Paint Love Blue" and debuted in 1985 under After Hours Records. This 12" vinyl EP features five tracks, including both single and extended versions of the title track. The records blends shimmering synth textures with melancholic melodies, evoking the emotional depth of early '80s New Wave.


 

Tunde Adebimpe - Somebody New

The lead singer and the founding member of TV on the Radio, Tunde Adebimpe has released his first solo album titled Thee Black Boltz  via Sub Pop Records. Four singles were already released from the album, including the latest, "Somebody New."

WATCH: Kompromat - I Did Not Forget You

Kompromat have premiered a brand-new video for the song "I Did Not Forget You." The video was directed by Léa Mysius. This is the third single of their second album PLДYING / PRДYING that was released in January this year.

Retrovision: Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy - 'Kiss Me

Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy released his second single, "Kiss Me" in 1985. The song was originally recorded by his band Tin Tin within the 24 hours, but failed to make any chart impact. This melodic  synth pop tune was among the last songs of this genre, before it was declining and transforming into Dance pop.

 

Out Today: The Horrors - Night Life

 The Horrors have released their sixth studio album Night Life that was already announced with the string of  single released that were released end of last year including "The Silence That Remains". The album is out on Fiction Records and in addition to the band's original line up, it features two new members, Amelia Kidd on keyboards and backing vocals and Jordan Cook on drums. Their latest single is "Ariel" is out now.


Ghost Cop - All Souls Day

Ghost Cop have released a video for the songs "All Souls Day", directed by Sean Dack and Lucy Swope. The song was premiered on the band's Bandcamp page in October 2024.

Hollows - Find a Way

Hallows have released the video for the new song "Find a Way". This is the fist collaboration of the LA duo with the music producer Matia Simovich who also records as Inhalt.

Instant Hit: Lorenzo and Marconny - Devojka iz Tokija

"Devojka iz Tokija" was one of the few releases by Dejan Spasić, who recorded under the name Lorenzo and Marconny or just Marconny. Released in 1985, and featured on their eponymous debut album that followed a year later, it is a prime and rare example of the Yugoslavian New Wave sound.




 

Lady Gaga ft Gesaffelstein - Killah

 Lady Gaga has revealed a new single from her album Mayhem that was released last week. The song "Killah" is funk infused that was recorded in collaboration with French producer Gesaffelstein and brings a real Prince vibe.

"No Front Teeth" is the second single release by Perfume Genius in collaboration with Aldous Harding. His brand new album Glory is announced for release on March 28th. The accompanying music video was directed by Cody Critcheloe also known as Ssion.

 

Miami Horror feat Telenova - We Are All Made of Stars

 Miami Horror have joined forces with Telenova for their brand new single "We Are All Made of Stars." This also announces Miami Horrors new album "We Always Had Tomorrow" which is out today and their first studio release since 2015.

David Byrne and Robyn Perform the 15th Anniversary of "Dancing on My Own"

Robyn has recently teamed up with David Byrne for the performance of Robyn's classic from 2010, "Dancing on My Own." During the live performance, both singers were dressed in matching suits, reminiscent of Byrne's huge outfit designed by Gail Blacker.

Retrovision: Scarlet - Independent Love Song

Scarlet, the British duo consisting of Charly Parker and Jo Youle, released their biggest hit, "Independent Love Song," thirty years ago in 1994. The track is best known for its striking contrast between the subdued verses and the soaring, powerful refrain, making it one of the most unconventional power ballads ever released.

 Kim Wilde has officially released her 15th studio album, Closer, today via Cherry Red Records. The album was preceded by the singles "Trails of Destruction" and "Midnight Train". Produced by her brother Ricky Wilde, Closer continues Kim Wilde's legacy of evolving her sound while staying true to her roots. A major highlight of the album is "Sorrow Replaced," a duet with Midge Ure, which we hope is a candidate for the next single. 


Instant Hit: Godot - Something's Missing

"Something Missing" is the sole single released by the short-lived 80s act Godot, a project involving among others David Hughes and Martin Cooper, both members of Dalek I Love You. Alongside this single, the band also released an EP titled Extended Player in 1981.


Andy Bell, Dot Allison & Michael Rother - I'm in Love with a German Film Star

Andy Bell of Ride, has teamed up with Dot Allison and Michael Rother for an album collaboration titled Pinball Wanderer which is due for release on February 28th. The first single has been revealed on YouTube, and it is the cover version of the Passion's classic "I'm in Love with a German Film Star" that was released in January 1981.

01. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God [PIAS]
Wild God is the18th studio album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, released in August 2024. It is the first studio album to feature the full participation of the Bad Seeds since Skeleton Tree (2016).The album has been described as a thematic shift and a return to living, suggesting that Cave has emerged from a grief-induced period and rediscovered a love for life. Wild God received two nominations at the Grammy Awards and one for the Australian Music Prize.

02. Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk [Mom + Pop] 
Imaginal Disk is the second studio album by Magdalena Bay, released through Mom + Pop Music in August 2024. The album was entirely produced by the duo, and it is a concept album where the fictional character True is implanted with an "Imaginal Disk", into her forehead to transform into her ideal self. Like its influences, the album is predominantly Synth-pop with elements of pop music, psychedelia, new age, disco, shoegaze, and progressive rock.

03. Allie X - Girl With No Face [Twin]
Allie X's third studio album, Girl With No Face, released in February 2024 and recorded in 2020 during the global lockdowns. Like her previous releases, this album is even more, 80s and Synth pop inspired and also paying homage to 1980s Synth pop, but not the typical variety that's been heard in recent times. Instead, Allie X recreates the early New wave and Dark wave resulting in something with a lot more edge and texture.

04. The Cure - Songs of a Lost World [Polydor/Fiction] 
The Cure's latest album, Songs of a Lost World, released in November 2024, marks their first collection of new material in 16 years. Critics have praised the album for its dark, personal themes and a return to the band's earlier, more atmospheric sound. Commercially, Songs of a Lost World has been a significant success. It debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, becoming the band's first chart-topping album since Wish in 1992.

05. The Last Dinner Party - Prelude to Ecstasy [Universal]
Prelude to Ecstasy is the debut album by British indie pop band the Last Dinner Party that was released in February 2024. Already in 2023, the band made prominence with a string of hits, including "Nothing Matters" and "My Lady of Mercy". The album is a collection of baroque art pop songs with a kick of Glam, goth and grotesque. When it was released in reached the Top tens in several countries including native UK.

06. Fontains D.C. - Romance [XL]
Romance is the fourth studio album by Fontaines D.C and their first release on XL Recordings. This change was also evident in their music style, as they moved a bit from their signature Post punk, adapting influences from Brit pop and Alternative Rock. It was also the band's first album to chart in the United States. The band received two nominations at the 2025 Grammy Awards: Best Rock Album for Romance and Best Alternative Music Performance for "Starburster."

07. Fat White Family - Forgiveness is Yours [Domino]
Forgiveness is Yours is the fourth studio album of Fat White Family, which was released in April 2024. It is very relevant to the time we live in. It is energetic, dynamic and as it is stated on their label page, it has pushed them to the limits not only of their creative talent, but of their health, their sanity, their very existence however they continue to challenge conventions, and Forgiveness is Yours solidifies their place as one of the most compelling acts in contemporary music.

08. Michael Kiwanuka - Small Changes [Polydor]
Small Changes is the fourth studio album by Michael Kiwanuka, released last November 2024. The album is released after five years break and reflects his personal life and changes, capturing his growth as an artist and individual. This is another brilliant neo-soul record, adding touches from other genres including R&B, indie, folk, blues, and jazz. Overall, Small Changes is a testament to Michael Kiwanuka's artistic maturity, showcasing his ability to craft soulful, introspective music.

09. Ride - Interplay [Wichita]
Interplay is the seventh studio album by Ride, released in March 2024, through Wichita Recordings. The album was written and recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic and showcases a blend of genres, including shoegaze, Krautrock, and synth-pop, giving it a more progressive tone, however retaining a hint of their shoegaze roots from the first two albums.

10. Suki Waterhouse - Memoir of a Sparklemuffin [Sub Pop]
Memoir of a Sparklemuffin is the second studio album by Suki Waterhouse, released in September 2024, under the Sub Pop label. Comprising 18 tracks, the album showcases Waterhouse's evolution as an artist, blending her indie pop roots with explorations into other genres. While some praise its eclectic sound and Waterhouse's lyrical vulnerability, others feel it falls short of a successful reinvention.
