The Smiths Deluxe Remaster Boxset Available on Pre-Order

Rhino Records UK is proud to present ‘Complete’, eight albums by The Smiths lovingly reworked by Johnny Marr and Rhino UK and packaged together for the first time - the ultimate The Smiths remasters collection.
 The collection includes all four of the band's studio albums – ‘The Smiths’ (1984), ‘Meat Is Murder’ (1985), ‘The Queen Is Dead’ (1986), ‘Strangeways, Here We Come’ (1987) and their sole live album ‘Rank’ (1988) as well as firm fan favourite compilations ‘Hatful Of Hollow’ (1984), ‘The World Won’t Listen’ (1987) and ‘Louder Than Bombs’ (1987). Each has been taken back to original tape sources and remastered by Johnny Marr and Frank Arkwright at the world famous Metropolis Studios in London.

dEUS- Keep You Close

Antwerp based group dEUS have released a follow-up to their album 'Vantage Point' which came out in 2008. Their sixth stidio album is called 'Keep You Close' and it has already reached gold in Belgum. The album will be avaiable in the UK on October 3rd 2011. White Lies- Ritual

White Lies have released their second studio album and a follow up to their debut 'To Lose My Life'. The album is out through Fiction Records and it was produced by Alan Moulder and Max Dingel. The first single from the album, "Bigger Than Us", was released on January 3, 2011. The band is currently on tour supported by Active child and Crocodiles.

R.E.M.- Pop Song 89

"Pop Song 89" was a third single from the album 'Green' released in 1989. The video was shot in black and white and featured the singer Michael Stipe and topless girls dancing in the background. MTV asked Stipe, who directed it himself, to censor the three topless women with whom he was dancing in the video. Instead, Stipe superimposed black bars on the chests of all four dancers, himself included, and stated, "a nipple is a nipple."

Muse- The Resistance

Muse have released their fifth studio album entitled 'The Resistance'. The albums was produced by a band and mixed by Mark Stent who also worked with Depeche Mode and Massive Attack. All songs were written and arranged by Matthew Bellamy (with exception to the piano outro of "United States of Eurasia", Collateral Damage, which is a loose recital of Nocturne In E-Flat Major, Op.9 No.2 by Frédéric Chopin. The firts single "Uprising" has already been released on 7 September 2009.

Next Wave: White Lies

White Lies is an alternative rock group from London which consists of Harry McVeigh (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). They have released their debut album To Lose My Life in January this year which was preceded by four singles "Unfinished Business", "Death", "To Lose My Life" and "Farewell to the Fairground". The musical style is similar to the sound of the Killers, The Cinematics and The Teardrop Explodes. They are signed to Fiction Records and they are on tour!

The Killers- Day and Age

The American rock group the Killers have released their third album entitled 'Day & Age'. The album had several different release dates in different countries including the official date for UK, Canada and US November 24, 2008. The first single "Human" has already been released in September. The album is considered as the "continuation" of Sam's Town.

The Verve- Forth

'Forth' is the upcoming fourth album by English alternative rock band The Verve and will be released on August 25, 2008. It is the band's first album of new material since Urban Hymns was released in 1997, excluding two unreleased tracks on the singles compilation album This Is Music: The Singles 92-98.The album's first single, "Love Is Noise", received its first airplay by Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 on June 23, 2008. The band also released a non-album track, "Mover", as a free digital download a week later.

Primal Scream- Beautiful Future

'Beautiful Future' is Primal Scream’s ninth studio album and their first for B-Unique. The album was produced by Björn Yttling [Peter, Björn and John] and Paul Epworth. The first single "Can’t Go Back" was released on July 14th. The album features guest collaborations from Lovefoxx of CSS, Josh Homme from Queens Of the Stone Age and folk legend Linda Thompson. As you would expect from one of Britain’s most exciting and inventive bands 'Beautiful Future' displays a heady mix of genre crunching taking in Philly soul, dark electro, accelerated rock'n'roll riffs and pure British pop all given that particular Scream edge.

dEUS- Vantage Point

'Vantage Point' is the fifth album by the Belgian group dEUS, released on April, 21st 2008. Vantage Point was produced by Dave McCracken and it features 10 tracks including some guest vocals on the songs "Slow" by Karin D. Andersson from the Knife and "The Vanishing Of Maria Scheneider" by Guy Carvey from Elbow. Earlier this year "The Architect" was released as the first single and it was featured on this blog. The second single release was "Slow".

Clinic- Do It!

A Liverpool based indie rock band noted for their often fast-paced, eclectic sound are set to relese their fifth album 'Do It!'. The album is going to be released on 8 April 2008. The single "Free Not Free" was made available on 1 February 2008 as a free download from clinicvoot.org.
